Consent Policy for Night Owls events
At Night Owls events, we prioritize the well-being, safety, and comfort of all attendees. This includes a commitment to enthusiastic, informed, and ongoing consent. Please read and understand the following consent policy, which outlines our expectations for all participants:
Informed Consent: All participants are expected to provide informed and enthusiastic consent before engaging in any activity. This means that all individuals involved must clearly and willingly communicate their boundaries and desires, and must respect the boundaries and desires of others.
No Means No: "No" always means no. If someone communicates that they are not comfortable with any activity, respect their decision immediately. Do not pressure or coerce anyone into any form of engagement.
Safe Words: We encourage the use of safe words to signal discomfort or the need to stop an activity. Participants should agree on a safe word before engaging in any play and be attentive to their partners' use of it.
Continuous Communication: Keep communication open and ongoing throughout any activity. Check in with your partner(s) and ensure that all involved parties remain comfortable and enthusiastic about the activities.
Intoxication: Consent cannot be given or received when under the influence of alcohol or drugs. We strongly discourage excessive use of substances that impair judgment. Anyone who appears to be too intoxicated to give informed and voluntary consent will be asked to refrain from participating.
Revocable Consent: Consent can be withdrawn at any time. If someone expresses discomfort or changes their mind, immediately cease the activity and respect their decision without question.
Respect Privacy: Do not record or share explicit content or images without the explicit, informed consent of all individuals involved.
Consent Guardians: There will be consent guardians present at the event who can help mediate situations, provide guidance, and address consent violations. Please seek their assistance if needed.
Reporting Violations: If you experience or witness a consent violation, report it immediately to the event organizers or consent guardians. We take all reports seriously and will take appropriate action.
By attending Night Owls events, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to this consent policy. Consent is of the utmost importance, and we trust all participants to uphold this policy, ensuring a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for everyone.
